English Study&Work Programme

Concordia has been bringing students to the UK for ever 60 years. English language course gives you the opportunity to come to the UK to improve your English.

If you wish, you can combine this with a work placement before or after the summer school that will enable you to earn some money and practice your language skills.

Summer school programme

• English language lessons 5 mornings per week (minimum 15 hours/week);
• 2 afternoons per week preparing an environmental project linked to English language development
• 2 afternoons per week optional sports activities
• 1 cultural visit per week

Saturdays and Sundays are free, but optional cultural visits and social activities will be arranged.

English course

You will be able to study English at an appropriate level for you. On your first day, you will be tested on your level of English and placed in a suitable class. Teachers will deliver lessons and set homework suitable for your level of English. Business English lessons may be available dependent on demand.

Optional work placement

You can choose to attend only the 4-week English summer school OR you can attend the school and undertake a work placement (for example, working on an apple farm) before or after the course.

The unique opportunity of a guaranteed work placement enables students who otherwise might not be able to afford to study English in the UK to do so.

The work placement earnings should cover your fees if you are able to work for about 8 weeks.

Unfortunately, you can only undertake a work placement if you are from a country with full working rights in the UK.
